Here are seven tips for REALTORS® on how to make the most of your listings and some of the lesser-known benefits of the REALTOR.ca platform.
1. Check that your email is up-to-date with your Board/Association.
REALTOR.ca sends over 1 million leads to REALTORS® each year. Don’t miss out! Make sure your Board/Association has your most up-to-date email address at mms.REALTORLink.ca. If your email is not up to date, please notify your Board/Association.
2. Add your social media accounts to your REALTOR.ca profile.
REALTOR.ca makes it easy for consumers to find you, and by adding your social media accounts to your profile, your clients have the flexibility to connect with you through their preferred channels. You can update your REALTOR.ca profile through your Board/Association’s MLS® System.
3. Always double-check your listing data.
Each Board/Association’s MLS® System is slightly different and does not always send the same information to us. It is important to know the limitations of your Board/Association’s MLS® System so you can ensure you are getting the most from your data. Once your listing has been made available on your Board’s MLS® System, be sure to check how it looks on REALTOR.ca. Confirm that it’s appearing as the right property type, and most importantly that it is mapped accurately. Slight data entry errors can result in listings appearing on the exact opposite side of the planet. If you see any mistakes on your listings on REALTOR.ca, please contact your Board/Association. All corrections will need to originate from their MLS® System.
4. See how your listings perform across the web.
With the new CREA Listing Statistics tool, you can track the performance of your listings on REALTOR.ca, the REALTOR.ca apps, and CREA’s Data Distribution Facility (DDF®) – all in one place.
5. Encourage your clients to download the REALTOR.ca app.
Just like the REALTOR.ca website, our mobile apps make searching for houses and properties anywhere in Canada simple. And with the “My Agent” function, your clients can add you directly to their device’s contacts list, making it easy to touch base should they need more information about a specific property.
6. Enable third party destinations (through CREA’s DDF®).
Once your listings hit REALTOR.ca, they are visible across all platforms including the REALTOR.ca apps. But did you know that you can extend their reach even further through CREA’s DDF®? Choose from a list of 15 additional third party sites to advertise your listings for even greater reach!
7. Introduce yourself – and your listings – to an international audience at WorldProperties.com.
WorldProperties.com is a portal linking agents and properties around the world. As a CREA member, you already have a basic online profile. To enhance your profile to include more information about your business and to improve your position in the search results, register at the site at no charge. We will soon be offering members new opportunities to provide global exposure of their local listings to potential international buyers through this great site, determined by the listing broker as a destination site of CREA’s DDF®. It’s a small world, after all.
