It occurred to me that, like most newly licensed agents, you came into the industry trying to solve the problem of not knowing enough. You spend countless hours working on creating websites, business cards, presentation materials, learning new skills….everything and anything to soak in as much as you can. To prepare yourselves for the future of your business. Sound familiar?
I am a big believer in education. It’s what I do. But I believe that approach is a little backwards.
While you are trying to solve a problem, I am trying to create one. A big one! And it’s a big problem that you will want to have!
Here goes. Are you ready for it?
Create so many potential clients and business opportunities that the learning becomes a need. In other words, get out there IN your business. Stop worrying about preparing. Having the best listing presentation means absolutely nothing if you never have a single person to present to.
Focus your time, energy and resources on finding business. Then seek out what you need to know to meet the needs of your clients. I’m not saying don’t prepare yourself. Just don’t spend a majority of your time on activities that will not directly increase your business.
